I haven’t updated this blog in a long time, and there are multiple reasons as to why. First of all, it’s really hard for me to concentrate on one thing for an extended period of time. I have a very short attention span and I never finish what I start. (My Pride and Prejudice book laying unfinished for two months now, and I claim to love the movie.)
Well, here I am at it again, I hope this time I will update consistently.
So, at the beginning of this lockdown, I was relatively more productive. I started drawing again like I used to, actually tried recreating an old drawing from when I was 7 just for fun. I cleared up some mess in my room, sorted through my stuff, started reading a book I always wanted to finally finish, as I said above. All this while talking to my husband who is stuck across the pond, both of us already being apart for half a year, bummer. One day he has this amazing idea to send me 500 dollars so I can purchase a Nintendo Switch and the newest Animal Crossing game. I was hesitant at first, we didn’t know how long this quarantine mess would last. What if he needs the money? We are both out of jobs. But he insisted.
Which brings us to today. I have abandoned all other activities because of this game, it’s just too fun.
Since we cannot physically be together, we have learned to use Animal Crossing to stay a little bit more connected.
This is the very first game in this francise that I had ever played, my husband however is a veteran, he played from the very first game back in the early 2000s.
We go on each other’s islands almost every single day and go on little dates.
We even recreated us meeting at the airport, in a way.
This game has been a hidden blessing, not only for us, but for about everyone who owns it since it was launched right around this time of crisis. In our case it brought us just a little more closer.
Not much else to say. Restrictions are starting to ease up, things will hopefully start getting back to normal so that we can work on my visa to finally be together again.
